Five bidders won the third auction of government securities for the current year to subscribe to two-year treasury bonds, which took place yesterday. They submitted 12 bids, of which 9 won, with a total allocated volume of 72.5 billion Syrian pounds.
According to a statement of the Ministry of Finance, of which SANA received a copy, the offers varied between private and public banks and individuals, and the total value of the offered offers amounted to about 83 billion Syrian pounds, and the number of allocated bonds amounted to 36,250 bonds based on the nominal value of the bond is 2 million Syrian pounds.
The ministry indicated that the bonds will be settled on the 16th of this month, which is the date of transferring funds from the accounts of the bidders who won the auction to the government securities account opened to the ministry with the Central Bank of Syria.
It is noteworthy that the ministry had previously allowed treasury bonds to trade in the Damascus Stock Exchange, and also allowed financial brokerage companies to participate in auctions, and for natural and legal individuals to participate in subscribing to these bonds.
