The Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Tohme, discussed with the Russian Minister of Energy Nikolai Shulginov the development and strengthening of cooperation between Syria and Russia in various energy fields.
The meeting between the two ministers today, on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week forum currently being held in Moscow, focused on the project of compressors for a gas plant in the south of the central region, the Tuinan and Al-Ballas fields with “STG Engineering”, the project to complete the Tishreen thermal plant with “Techno Export” and phosphate projects. With “STG Logistics” and the projects of land and marine exploration companies, and activating the oil shale investment project in Syria.
The two ministers agreed to update the roadmap for cooperation in the fields of energy and the training of Syrian engineers in Russia, provided that the new map for cooperation would be adopted during the next meeting of the Syrian-Russian joint committee planned to be held in the near future in Damascus.
The meeting was attended by Syria's ambassador to Moscow, Dr. Riad Haddad.
