Fuels: the strike at TotalEnergies renewed in Gonfreville and Feyzin

2022-10-20T06:13:24.015Z

The mobilization of strikers at the oil sites of TotalEnergies had fallen sharply on Wednesday with the lifting of the strike in three sites

Three weeks after the start of the mobilization for wages, the social movement crumbles.

If the strike at TotalEnergies was renewed this Thursday morning at the Gonfreville refinery (Seine-Maritime) and at the Feyzin depot (Rhône), it is "suspended" on all the other sites, specified Éric Sellini, national coordinator of the CGT for TotalEnergies.

The employees of the “Flandres” site in Mardyck, near Dunkirk and that of La Mède in the Bouches-du-Rhône decided to resume work on Wednesday evening when the night teams were to take their shift.

The end of the strike had been voted earlier in the day at the Donges refinery (Loire-Atlantique).

The mobilization launched by the CGT on September 27 caused major fuel supply difficulties, exasperating individuals and professionals in the face of often dry service stations.

One in five resorts in difficulty

Since the start of the strike, several employees have been requisitioned at the Flandres and Feyzin depots in an attempt to maintain supplies.

The pressure increases further as the school holidays approach, when the first departures should take place on Friday evening.

At 1 p.m. on Wednesday, one in five service stations (20.3%) were experiencing supply difficulties on at least one fuel (against 24.8% on Tuesday).

The situation remains very tense in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (33.1%), Île-de-France (30.5%) and Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes (29.4%), according to the latest figures from the Ministry of the energy transition.
