A month after the judicial liquidation of the Camaïeu ready-to-wear brand, a major auction will take place on Wednesday November 2 to sell off the remaining clothing stocks.

It will be held in Vendeville (Nord), near Lille.

The value of the stocks is estimated at 51.6 million euros for nearly 2 million pieces, according to the Mercier house, organizer of the event.

"

All the stocks of the 509 stores will be offered for sale, i.e. approximately 1,200,000 pieces for a store sale price value of approximately 34 million euros including tax

", is it indicated on the site of the auction house .

Added to this is all warehouse stocks, i.e. 580,000 pieces for a value of around 14 million euros, as well as the winter 2023 collection, which was not presented in stores, i.e. around 276,200 pieces for 3.6 million euros.

However, the buyers will be mainly professionals in the sector or destocking brands since an “

imperative

” deposit of 50,000 euros must be paid to access the sale.

Buyers will then have to pay their invoice in full and will have until November 14 to remove the goods for inventory from stores and until the end of November for inventory from warehouses.

This sale comes after the legal representatives of Camaïeu presented to the staff representatives of the ready-to-wear chain a social plan which provides, among other things, for a bonus of 6,000 euros for each of the approximately 2,100 dismissed employees.

According to the CGT and the CFDT, quoting the management, the turnover of the sales carried out the last three days preceding the closing of the stores amounts to 25.2 million euros.
