Camaïeu in liquidation: can you participate in Wednesday's auction?

In total, 2 million pieces, belonging to more than 500 stores of the brand for a total value estimated at 51.6 million euros.

After the closure of the stores of the Camaïeu brand, placed in compulsory liquidation, the remaining stocks of the brand are sold this Wednesday at auction in Vendeville (Nord), near Lille.

These sales take place a few days after the announcement by Camaïeu's legal representatives of the redundancy plan which will be implemented and will concern three types of inventory being auctioned: those of the brand's 509 stores (i.e. 1.2 million pieces worth approximately 34 million euros), those from the warehouses located in Roubaix, and the new collection for winter 2023, never marketed and therefore the most requested lot, according to the Mercier house (i.e. 276,200 parts, estimated at 3.6 million euros in total).

A deposit of 50,000 euros requested

The different lots are notably composed of sets of jackets and coats, or the entire stock of several stores.

But who are these sales reserved for?

Will individual fans of the brand be able to acquire a few pieces?

Yes… but only if you are very wealthy.

If the auctions are public, potential buyers will be asked for a deposit of 50,000 euros in order to access the sale.

The Mercier house therefore expects above all to welcome “big players in the sector”, according to Bruno Decock, who works for it.

Most likely clearance stores and clothing professionals.

This sale will be very fast since the clothes will have to be picked up before November 14th.

Camaïeu will also be behind other auctions by the end of the year.

But this time there are no items of clothing on the program, only the flow of “operating equipment” from the premises, namely offices and furniture.
