The meeting held today between the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform and the General Union of Peasants discussed the requirements for implementing the agricultural production plan for the next agricultural season, and securing production requirements.
The Minister of Agriculture, Eng. Mohamed Hassan Qatna, indicated to the continuation of coordination between the Ministry and the Farmers’ Union to improve and increase agricultural production, secure its requirements of seeds, fertilizers and fuels, and solve the problems of the agricultural sector in a way that serves the farmer, achieves stability for him and contributes to increasing production.
Qatana pointed out that this plan was prepared and announced, and placed at the disposal of the governorates at an early date to enable farmers to prepare their lands, obtain agricultural organization and know what they will plant, and the mechanism through which they will obtain production requirements.
In a press statement, the Minister of Agriculture stated that the agricultural plan for the current year included planting the largest possible area of wheat in the Western Al-Bayarat area in Palmyra, and investing all self-flowing wells in the Badia in order to provide large quantities of this crop, which is one of the most important food security crops, pointing to An abundant season of yellow corn was achieved, which contributed to saving money on the state treasury.
The head of the General Union of Farmers, Ahmed Saleh Ibrahim, confirmed that the Union is working with the Ministry of Agriculture hand in hand to make the agricultural plan a success, to overcome difficulties and secure production requirements for farmers, in order to avoid obstacles facing the farmer from the beginning of the agricultural season.
