The five villas have aroused so much international interest that one of these architectural gems has already been sold, even before the first stone was laid.

This is the first residence in the world to carry the signature of Karl Lagerfeld and it will be in Spain, specifically in the heart of Marbella's golden mile.

The works of this development, with a total investment of 51 million euros, have just begun and the delivery of the keys is scheduled for 2024. The one in charge of giving life to the first homes with the Lagerfeld seal is the Spanish developer Sierra Blanca Estates, a family business from the Costa del Sol with experience in projects with large luxury brands.

It does so together with the international architecture studio The One Atelier.

In the five houses —all different— the iconic vision and aesthetics of the German designer, who died in 2019 and is a lover of architecture, photography and interior design, is captured to the millimeter, and among whose latest projects is the design of a hotel in Macau.

"These villas are a translation of what he would have imagined, his legacy is in every detail, in sustainable and responsible architecture," says Pier Paolo Righi, global CEO of Karl Lagerfeld, who recently traveled to Marbella to present the Project.

The sale price of the first villa to a Dutch businessman has been around 15 million euros, although the promoter recognizes that the next houses will be closed at a higher price, which could even reach 25 million.

“The maturity of the project will bring more and more value to it,” says Carlos Rodríguez, CEO of Sierra Blanca Estates, who invited several media outlets, including EL PAÍS, to present the project.

“The price is not a factor for the buyer of these villas, but to live experiences that they have never lived.

We are seeing clients with higher purchasing power or looking for more expensive properties than ever before in Marbella”, he adds.

The five houses, with private gardens and swimming pools, stand on a plot of more than 9,000 square meters that will alternate ponds and pedestrian paths.

The design surprises with a facade made of reflective ceramic pieces finished with white gold powder that Righi says evokes Lagerfeld's designs.

They have an area of between 1,045 and 1,305 meters built, are distributed over four floors connected by a lift and have five or six bedrooms, as well as a fireplace, double-height living room, cinema, parking "to show off the car", solarium, spa... The large floor-to-ceiling windows on the ground floor allow the interior to be a continuation of the exterior.

The promoters assure that the use of biodegradable and recyclable materials, as well as sustainability, have been a priority.

The green roof and photovoltaic panels reduce energy needs.

The interiors have some iconic elements of Lagerfeld, such as the bookcase in which he placed the books horizontally, the angles or the alternation of colors between black and white.
