Iran's external debt decreased by 17.4 percent in the first five months of the current fiscal year.
And the Fars news agency quoted the Central Bank of Iran as saying in new data released today: “The external debt decreased to $7.163 billion, of which $5.239 billion is long and medium-term debt, in addition to $1.924 billion in short-term debt.
According to the euro, Iran's foreign debt amounts to 7.131 billion euros, of which 5.216 billion euros are long and medium-term debt, and 1.195 billion euros are short-term.
The latest report of the International Monetary Fund indicated that Iran is the least indebted compared to its domestic product in 2022, at 0.5 percent of the country's GDP, while Iran's external debt ended the last fiscal year at the level of $8.675 billion.
