A welcome help.
Low-income households heating with fuel oil and who have not been able to benefit from the shield put in place for other energy sources will benefit from aid between 100 and 200 euros from Monday, according to a decree published this Sunday in the Official newspaper.
This device is part of the envelope of 230 million euros voted by Parliament this summer and can be used for the payment of any type of energy bill, if the households concerned have filled up their tank recently.

This fuel check, valid for one year, amounts to 200 euros for households earning less than 10,800 euros per year per consumption unit, i.e. when the income of an adult in the household, once deducted in particular the burden represented by minors, does not exceed the sum set according to the calculation of INSEE.
It will be 100 euros for those earning between 10,800 and 20,000 euros per year per consumption unit, according to the decree published in the Official Journal.
Half of oil-heated households concerned
According to the government, 1.4 million households could benefit from this check out of the 2.8 million who heat with fuel oil.
It can be requested from Monday until March 31, on the chequeenergie.fr site where a simulator will show who is eligible.
At the beginning of October, the Ministry of the Economy recalled that “this fuel oil aid will come in addition to the usual energy check, sent in the spring to around 6 million households, and the exceptional end-of-year energy check which will be sent to 40% households (12 million households)", to cope with the 15% increase in gas and electricity prices expected in 2023.
