Dizengoff Center is a pioneer of shopping malls in the initiative of sustainability moves and was the first commercial center in Israel to establish a sustainability department.
This department has signed a long series of strategic moves, which affect Gush Dan in general and the immediate surroundings of the center in particular.
As part of the center's sustainability concept, Dizengoff Center declared a commitment to zeroing out its carbon emissions by 2028. In 2022, Dizengoff Center reduced the amount of emissions it produces by 64% compared to 2014, since it began measuring it.
Zeroing the emissions will be the high point for the process of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from year to year, a process that began already in 2014, in which the center's greenhouse gas emissions were 7218 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
This significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions results from a combination of actions for energy efficiency, as well as a transition to the consumption of electricity produced from gas, as well as a project to offset carbon emissions through tree planting.

According to
Dan Piltz, CEO and co-owner of Dizengoff Center
: "We are excited and proud to represent the malls and shopping centers industry in Israel and to explain the center's extensive activity in the fields of sustainability and impact, which began about a decade ago as a voluntary and conscious decision to set sustainability issues on our agenda , so that it leads all of our day-to-day activities.
Our activity has proven over the years that it is possible to make a real organizational change, which concerns both the management of a shopping center and the shopping experience and still be a profitable and successful organization.
The Center believes that it is its duty to be a leader in this process and is even an inspiration to other organizations and commercial companies in the field, out of a desire to reveal the vision of sustainability to as many as possible and to share the knowledge that has been accumulated for the benefit of the community, society and the environment."
