Renewable electricity: Voltalia launches a capital increase of 490 million euros

The renewable electricity giant wants to triple its performance indicators by 2027 and is therefore undertaking a major capital increase.


The renewable electricity producer Voltalia announced on Wednesday that it was launching a capital increase "

of around 490 million euros

" in order "

to involve all investors in its strategic acceleration

", according to a press release.

Voltalia - which produces and sells electricity from its wind, solar, hydraulic, biomass and storage facilities - "

launches today a capital increase in cash with maintenance of shareholders' preferential subscription rights for a gross amount of 'approximately 490 million euros

', it is indicated.

The company reports "

subscription commitments for 72.95% of the total amount of the capital increase

" from its reference shareholder, Voltalia Investissement, which is "

part of the portfolio of companies held by Mulliez family members

», for a total amount of around 345 million euros, as well as from Proparco for around 12 million, or 2.50%.

The subscription price was set at 13.70 euros per new share.

The subscription period will open on November 21 and close on November 30 inclusive.

The result of the capital increase will be known on December 5, for admission of the new shares on Euronext Paris on December 7.

The group recalls having recorded an average annual growth of 48% in its revenues and 49% in its gross operating income (Ebitda) between 2014, the date of its IPO, and June 30, 2022.
