Chinese official data showed that the country's investment in land and water transport fixed assets maintained steady growth during the first ten months of this year.
Xinhua quoted data issued by the Chinese Ministry of Transport as saying that investment in fixed assets for land and water transport amounted to approximately 2.47 trillion yuan, or about 345 billion US dollars, in the period from January to October, an increase of 9.5 percent year on year. Land exports amounted to 2.34 trillion yuan, up 9.6 percent year on year.
The data indicated that investment in inland waterways rose 9.2 percent year on year to 63.4 billion yuan, while investment in coastal waterways increased 8.2 percent, from a year earlier, to 65.2 billion yuan.
