The General Directorate of Real Estate Interests announced that the total real estate contracts completed since the implementation of Law No. 17 of 2021 regarding the standardization of real estate fees has reached about 600 thousand contracts to date, while the total fees collected amounted to more than 21.947 billion pounds.

The Director General of the Real Estate Department, Eng. Waddah Qatmawi, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the total fees collected, which were higher than the previous ones, came as a result of the law unifying fees at specific and clear rates that relied on the prevailing values ​​of real estate as the sole basis for calculating them.

Regarding the services provided by the specialized real estate citizen service center until the 23rd of this month, Katmawi indicated that the total number of applications submitted to the center and processed in the areas of automated real estate registration, electronic correspondence, alphabetical index, area statement, and foreign affairs certification amounted to 133,362 applications, and the total fees collected amounted to more than 315,522. million lire.

He indicated that the demarcation and liberation works carried out until the end of last October amounted to more than 10.8 million hectares, noting that the total area subject to demarcation and liberation in Syria amounts to more than 10.353 million hectares, with a completion rate of 99 percent.

With regard to automated real estate newspapers, Qatmawi stated that the total number of automated real estate properties as of November 3 in the governorates of Damascus, Rif Dimashq, Lattakia, Tartous, Homs, Hama, As-Suwayda, and Daraa amounted to 754,352 out of 4,340,623 properties, while the number of archived files amounted to more than 20.921 million files.

Katmawi pointed out that the Directorate reactivated the fourth real estate documentation office in Homs governorate and secured an electric line exempt from legalization for the General Directorate building, which helped in the continuity of providing services and the completion of a greater number of automation works. According to Katmawi, several decisions were issued to reconfigure real estate newspapers in the regions of Qasareen Shams and Harasta al-Basal in the city of Douma, and the regions of Irbin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Saqba, Jisreen, Ain Tarma and Zamalka in the province of Damascus. In the seventh real estate region in Aleppo, the necessary administrative committees will soon begin to be formed for that.
