Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called on European countries to review the sanctions imposed on Russia and the resulting costs and damage to the European economy.
Novosti quoted Orban as saying on his Twitter page, commenting on French President Emmanuel Macron's announcement that Europe and the United States participate in the Ukrainian conflict in the name of the same principles, but the price they pay is not the same on both sides of the Atlantic: "Macron is right, the price of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine." It is not the same on both sides of the Atlantic, and if we want European industries to survive, we must quickly solve the energy crisis. It is time to rethink sanctions on Russia.”
On the other hand, Minister of State for Bilateral Relations in the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tamash Mincer, announced that his country does not intend to train Ukrainian military personnel.
"In some European countries events are taking place to train Ukrainian soldiers, but they will not take place in Hungary," Minzer said in a statement. "We want to move towards peace, not towards war."
In an escalating step for the Ukrainian crisis, the foreign ministers of the European Union announced earlier the launch of a training mission for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with the aim of training at least 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers.
