The Canadian Dominion Voting Systems accuses the TV station Fox News of having spread misinformation about the US election.

The company is suing for $1.6 billion in damages.

Now Rupert Murdoch, the 91-year-old owner of Fox News, is due to testify under oath in court next week.

The Canadian voting technology company has sued Fox News for allegedly broadcasting intentionally false claims about Dominion's role in the 2020 presidential election.

In the reporting, Murdoch's broadcaster accused several voting software companies of being in cahoots with billionaire George Soros and wanting to overthrow Trump.

Therefore, the company Smartmatic had already sued for 2.7 billion US dollars in damages.

Fox News has also had to acknowledge the spread of misinformation and broadcast fact checks on its programming.

Rupert Murdoch is the most prominent person questioned by Dominion's attorneys at the trial.

In the past few weeks, executives, producers and moderators of the station had already been summoned to the process.
