2022-12-09T11:45:04.925Z

The pilots are demanding a salary increase as well as a return “to their pre-Covid working conditions”.

The pilots of the airline Corsair are called to go on strike from December 16 to 22 by the national union of airline pilots (SNPL) which did not rule out Friday to extend the notice.

After Air Antilles Thursday, whose staff are called to stop work from December 17 to 22, it is the turn of another French company serving overseas territories to be hit by a social movement in this end of year.

The pilots of the Guadeloupe company Corsair, whose head office is based in Rungis (Val-de-Marne), are demanding a return “

to their pre-Covid working conditions

” but also a “

revaluation of their remuneration to cope with the 'inflation

The SNPL has not ruled out extending the move “

for later holiday periods.

For its part, the management says it has offered the pilots “

a 5% increase in the salary scale

” from January 1, 2023. “

An additional increase

“of 3% is planned from October 1, 2023, which can be improved”

, further specifies the management in its press release.

After going through one of the worst crises in its history, the aviation sector began a slow recovery in 2022 with a successful summer season but remains very fragile, in particular due to gloomy prospects (war in Ukraine, explosion in the cost of energy...).

The threat of social conflicts during the end of year celebrations weighs on several companies in France such as Air France or the French subsidiary of EasyJet.

Corsair is the third French company after Air France and the companies of the Dubreuil group (Air Caraïbes and French Bee).
