Railway manufacturer Alstom announced on Thursday that it will supply 49 additional commuter trains to Renfe in Spain, completing an order worth more than 1.4 billion euros announced at the start of 2021. This order of almost 370 million euros covers to 201 the total number of “Coradia Steam” trains ordered by the Spanish national company, i.e. a total amount of 1.8 billion euros, maintenance and parts included, Alstom said in a press release.

All trains will be manufactured at Alstom's production site in Santa Perpetua, in the province of Barcelona.
The manufacturer has sold around 3,900 Coradia trains to date, and more than 3,000 are currently in operation in Denmark, France and Germany.
