NGE, number four in France in the construction industry, launched a new kind of student grant in January.
Dedicated to students at the end of their engineering studies who are doing an internship in the company, it has the particularity of being conditioned on a commitment by the student intern to an association working in the field of the environment or education.
These are the two action pillars of the NGE endowment fund.
Unlike other corporate foundations that have created end-of-study scholarships, NGE has not decided on a means test for allocating this financial aid, set at 150 euros per month.

“Each year, we welcome between 80 and 100 trainees in end-of-studies projects.
This scholarship carries values that we wish to embody.
It will make us better known to certain schools and their students;
it is also a mobility aid
,” explains NGE, which employs more than 16,000 people worldwide.
The construction industry is struggling to recruit.
According to Pôle emploi, the sector expected to create 265,090 jobs in 2022. But 74.1% of recruitment projects are considered difficult by employers.
For NGE, this scholarship, which is not limited in number or in time, must also allow the company - in any case that is what it hopes!
- to transform the end-of-study project of the engineering student into a permanent contract once his studies have been completed.
