Some 2.6 million households heating with wood are eligible for the exceptional aid of 50 to 200 euros set up in favor of the pa

The counter is open.

Since this Tuesday, December 27 at 8 a.m., approximately 2.6 million households can start the process to obtain their wood energy check.

A breath of fresh air, the average price of a cubic meter of wood having increased by 20% in one year when that of pellets was multiplied by two or even three to reach up to 15 euros per 15 kg bag!

To the chagrin of individuals who had invested several thousand euros in a pellet stove, encouraged by significant state aid.

Some 70% of households heating mainly with wood are eligible for this boost subject to income conditions.

“French people who earn up to 2,260 euros for a single person and up to 4,750 euros for a couple with two children will be able to access it,” explained Gabriel Attal in an interview with “Parisien” at the end of November.

Households must go to chequeboisfioul.asp-public.fr, a platform set up by the Services and Payments Agency (ASP).

And provide "a personal invoice proving a purchase of wood for a minimum amount of 50 euros (or a certificate for households in collective heating)", specifies the Ministry of the Economy.

The first checks sent mid-February 2023

Households that heat with logs are entitled to a check for 100 euros for the most modest and 50 euros for those with higher incomes.

Households that use pellets in a pellet stove will receive an amount twice as large to take into account a much stronger increase in prices than for traditional firewood.

The first checks should be sent from mid-February 2023 and the counter to apply will remain accessible until April 30.

It can be used to pay part of a future wood or pellet bill or be used with other suppliers for any energy bill (electricity, gas, fuel oil, etc.).

Although this aid cannot be combined with the fuel oil energy check, it is complementary to the annual energy check in the amount of 48 to 277 euros, which 20% of French people benefit from each year.

And also the exceptional energy check of 100 to 200 euros that 12 million households will receive in the coming weeks.

In these two cases, there is no procedure to take, the tax authorities sending the mail directly with the check to your home.
