The board of the Moriah company, headed by the chairman of the board, the mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, summarized the year 2022 and approved the work plan for 2023. This is the fourth year in a row in which the scope of activity of the Moriah company crosses the second threshold of one billion shekels per year.



The company will continue to manage and carry out In the coming year, large transportation projects, which include, among other things, the continuation of the construction of the light rail system in the city, road construction, infrastructure development, urban development and the construction of educational and public buildings, all of which have a financial scope of approximately NIS 2.4 billion.



This is the fourth year in a row, in which the Moriah company presents activity volumes that exceed the two billion shekel mark per year, and reflect the execution of hundreds of successful projects, which are prominently visible throughout Jerusalem, for the benefit of improving the quality of life of the capital's residents and those who come to its gates.

Moriah, operating in Jerusalem and in the metropolis, serves as the main implementation arm of the Jerusalem Municipality and the Ministry of Transportation in promoting many projects in the field of trains, city entrances, parking lots and terminals, highways, urban projects and construction.



Among the main projects completed in 2022: completion of nine sections of the Green Line, which are 75% of the total route, as well as the start of construction of new sections of the blue line, alongside the completion of the connection of road 16 to Givat Shaul and the opening of the northern tunnel to traffic on road 60. In addition, during the year, the Moriah company also delivered 90 classrooms and kindergartens for the benefit of the city's boys and girls in the east and west.

In the urban aspect, a significant upgrade was made to the tribune in Givat Ram, where the finals of the European Youth Athletics Championship and the 21st Maccabiah were also held.

Beyond that, new parks were established such as Soccer Park, playgrounds for children, street upgrades throughout the city including the historic and central King David Street and more.



The largest and most prominent projects in the Moriah company's work plan for 2023: Completion of most of the sections of the Green Line (Infra 1) so that by the end of the year the entire route of the line will be completed with the exception of one section, the Green Line will include 41 stations spread over approximately 20 kilometers - from the Gila neighborhood to Mount Scopus with branches to Malha and Givat Shaul.



At the same time, work began on the sections of the Blue Line expected to include 53 stations spread over approximately 31 kilometers - from the Gila neighborhood, along Hebron Road, the city center, Mount Hotzavim to the Ramot neighborhood.

Along with these, the continuation of work on the project to establish "Hana Vesa" parking lots in close proximity to the light rail lines and among them: the completion of the Nahal Scofus parking lot near Givat Hambatar as well as continued work at the Hana Vesa parking lot and bus terminal 4/9 at the Ramot neighborhood intersection as well as at the Beit intersection near the Givat Mordechai neighborhood. At the same time, the extension of two new public transportation routes along the Begin road as well as the continuation of projects for the development of the entrances to Jerusalem - the project of the entrance district to the city (parking lot and level separation in Shazar), the level separation project at the French Hill and the project of doubling the tunnels on road 60. As mentioned, the work plan also includes the establishment of New educational and public buildings in the west and east of the city.



The Moriah company is expected to hand over dozens of new educational buildings and the addition of about 100 new classrooms in schools, kindergartens and day care centers during the year 2023.

Also, as part of the work plan, dozens of urban projects will be carried out for the well-being of the city's residents, which include upgrades to extensive parks in various neighborhoods that include, among other things, play and sports facilities and gathering areas, upgrading and developing streets, highways, and playgrounds throughout the city.
