New Year: New Year's Eve promises to be a good time for restaurants and caterers

Catering professionals must adapt this year to a clientele that is experiencing significant inflation.


Caterers, restaurants and clubs have put the small dishes in the big ones, and inflated their stocks of champagne to water New Year's Eve.

Traditionally, the evening of December 31 is one of the most important of the year.

But this time, the professionals have to juggle their clients' desire to party, without breaking the bank too much.

"All our restaurants have been full for about a month,"

says Laurent de Gourcuff, president of Paris Society (Monsieur Bleu, Loulou, Girafe, Apicius, etc.).

Since many Parisian customers have gone on vacation, the emblematic places of Paris Society - with views of the Eiffel Tower and rooftops of Paris - will mainly welcome foreign customers, especially Americans and English.

Between reservations and closures

Not everyone is so lucky, but in general, the 2022 vintage is looking good in the capital.

"There is little availability left,"

rejoices Stéphane Manigold, president of Umih restauration Paris - Île-de-France.
