If you believe the specialist portal »Bloomberg«, the tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has destroyed more money in just over a year than anyone before him. The reasons for this are obvious.

According to the business portal »Bloomberg«, Elon Musk has set a negative record in wealth loss.

The 51-year-old was the first person to own $200 billion - and is said to be the first to lose that much money.

His fortune was estimated at $340 billion, according to the November 2021 report.

In the meantime, the value has fallen to a good 137 billion US dollars.

The main reason for the legendary slump is the crash of Tesla shares;

it has lost a good 65 percent of its value a year.

Musk had previously divested numerous shares in the automaker to finance the $44 billion purchase of the social network Twitter.

Musk is ranked #2 on the "Bloomberg" rich list.

Just this month, he was overtaken by the family of French entrepreneur Bernard Arnault, who are worth $162 billion.

Arnault is the head of the LVMH group, which owns 70 luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Moët & Chandon and Bulgari.

Allegation that Musk neglected Tesla

According to Forbes magazine, Musk has lost a lot of money.

This year it was at times at 219 billion US dollars, it says there, but now it is still 146 billion US dollars.

Many investors criticize that Musk made headlines on the short message service Twitter and neglected Tesla.

Even Musk's announcement before Christmas that he would probably not sell any more Tesla shares for the next two years and that he would relinquish control of Twitter as soon as he had found a suitable successor did little to appease investors.

However, the free fall of Tesla shares seems to have stopped in the meantime.

After a slight recovery, their value is stagnating.
