The incoming minister, Bezalel Smotrich

, said in his speech that: "Upon entering the Ministry of Finance now, I am committed to one task - the economy of Israel and the good of the State of Israel and its citizens. Minister Avigdor Lieberman and I agree on many things.

I am a man of a free economy who is interested in removing barriers, and perfecting the free market and competition as much as possible. The public sector patrol sits in the Ministry of Finance, and I come here with a lot of humility and a desire to learn in order to promote the State of Israel, strengthen the economy and the state's revenues, and then also locate the populations that need assistance.

We are facing a challenging period, of economic events such as inflation and interest rate increases, and I believe that we will overcome it and bring Israel confidence in the financial system and, as a result, investors.

I think we all act in continuity, and as part of that, I am too.

Minister Lieberman did a very good job here and led courageous and progressive steps, and I hope to continue him and build my floor, and leave here a stronger treasury ministry also for the minister who comes after me."

The outgoing minister, Avigdor Lieberman

, wished success to the new minister and said:

"I want to thank all the employees of the Ministry of Finance, this is a unique ministry where people are available 24/7 and are ready and committed to the public service at all times.

We spoke with Bezalel Smotrich, the incoming minister, for an hour, and if you need to Also, I'm here for you. I want to mention the saying "without bread there is no Torah",

the Ministry of Finance is an important ministry and the economy is the basis of the state, and likewise, "there is no welfare without profits". The role of the Minister of Finance as I see it, is Not to 'guard the coffers', but to generate a lot of income and then act more freely in making budgetary decisions.

There are tremendous challenges here, chief among them is building the budget. My first advice is to work with the people of the office - smart people with an open mind and things can be promoted here. Good luck."

The Director General of the Ministry of Finance, Ram Belinkov

, greeted the ministers and said:

"Thank you very much to the outgoing Minister of Finance, for the great trust you placed in us and for the leadership and reforms that we were able to promote thanks to you for the benefit of the State of Israel for the years to come. I am reminded of Parshat Vigesh from last Shabbat, according to which we should save the surpluses we have accumulated for difficult times, and not immediately spend and distribute the funds. I I wish you to find the right way, also to impose taxes and not only to ease taxes."
