With the aim of preparing a framework for joint cooperation and achieving national goals in preserving traditional industries and handicrafts and protecting them from extinction, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministries of Tourism, represented by Minister Engineer Mohamed Rami Martini, and Ministry of Industry, represented by Minister Ziad Sabbagh.

The memorandum, which was signed in the building of the Ministry of Tourism today, included work to achieve cooperation between the two ministries to establish incubators and markets for heritage professions, protect and market them, and promote handicrafts that are part of the tangible heritage, and the participation of craftsmen of these professions in internal and external exhibitions that are held or participated in by the two ministries. .

In a statement to SANA reporter, the Minister of Tourism, Eng. Muhammad Rami Martini, confirmed that the memorandum is the nucleus of markets and incubators for heritage businesses that will take place in the future, indicating that the coming days will witness multiple projects and training in this field to advance it, especially after the damages it suffered as a result of the terrorist war and unilateral coercive economic measures. The aspect imposed on the Syrian people, which targeted, among other things, the foundations of human civilization on Syrian soil.

In turn, Minister of Industry Ziyad Sabbagh confirmed that this memorandum was the culmination of a deep cooperative relationship between the two ministries, aimed at supporting and advancing heritage crafts and handicrafts as part of the national identity, and that this memorandum is not limited to tourism and industry only, but is open to all parties concerned with heritage.

The signing of the agreement was attended by the assistants of the ministers of tourism, Eng. Nidal Mashafej, the minister of industry, Eng. Asaad Warda and Ayman Al-Khoury, and the director of tourism development, Eng. Rama Al-Sheikh.
