Siteléco: a responsible and sustainable approach to the environment

2023-01-09T10:19:45.830Z

The Siteléco environmental design and consultancy office offers a full range of services, from the beginnings of a project to its operation.

A diagnosis of the fauna and flora

Created in June 2019, the Siteléco company offers diagnostics of fauna and flora for projects subject to regulations, such as wind or solar farms (on the ground or floating), or even the construction of housing estates, roads , quarries, public works.

Its expertise can cover the entire project: feasibility and impact studies, compliance with regulations, site monitoring then monitoring during the operating phase.

Siteléco also carries out naturalist inventories in order to improve knowledge of fauna and flora.

These include specific monitoring, testing of new study technologies, reserve inventories, etc.

Siteléco counts among its customers multinational energy companies such as TotalEnergies, Engie Green or EDF Renewables, but also small businesses, communities and municipalities in charge, for example, of Natura 2000 sites or nature reserves.

The company has notably carried out monitoring of wind farms in Guadeloupe and Martinique, where knowledge is still lacking on certain taxonomic groups, by measuring their impact on flying fauna.

In this context, Siteléco was thus one of the first design offices to carry out an expertise of bats at nacelle height over a full year in Guadeloupe in order to propose measures for clamping wind turbines during peak activity of these species.

An expert, innovative and demanding look

With a dozen employees, the company has a young, dynamic, responsive and versatile team, with expert profiles in each area of biodiversity: birds, bats, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, entomofauna, flora, natural habitats, wetlands… Each of these questions is answered by a solid and accomplished skill.

Siteléco's conclusions are argued, its complete diagnostics enriched with aerial views allowing for a more detailed and up-to-date analysis.

Its team is also always available for meetings and site visits.

Recently, Siteléco became a sponsor of the Velars-sur-Ouche school (Côte d'Or - Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) by offering birdhouses and bird feeders, bat houses, learning notebooks, stuffed animals, etc. .

Objective: to make the younger generation aware of environmental issues.

The company also constantly seeks to sharpen its skills by developing its knowledge.

Last example to date: the holding of a study on the impact of the shade of solar panels on the flora in terms of luminosity and hygrometry.

The design office therefore wishes to support project promoters by proposing the measures best suited to precise assessments of the biodiversity present on the operating sites.

For Siteléco, the installation of renewable energies even represents an opportunity to boost biodiversity.

The company thus aims to bring to the projects monitored an ever stronger ecological connotation, a new perspective that is not strictly limited to regulations.

By exceeding the required standards, Siteléco frees itself from “performance at all costs” to aim for the best possible compromise between the requirements of the customers and those of the environment to give life to projects that are both productive but reasoned.
