Risk of salmonella: recall of sausages sold at Lidl, Casino and System U

Organic dry sausage weighing 200 grams, sold in a plastic bag throughout France, could be infected with the bacteria responsible for


If you have recently purchased sausage in your cupboards, be careful and check that it is not affected by a potential infection before consuming it.

Several batches of dry sausage sold in Lidl, Casino and Système U stores are subject to a recall on the site set up by the government, rappel.conso.gouv.fr.

Indeed, they could be infected with salmonella, the bacteria responsible for salmonellosis.

It is the equivalent of classic gastroenteritis.

Symptoms – diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, sometimes fever – appear a day or two after ingesting the contaminated product.

The government site which specifies that “these symptoms may be more pronounced in young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised subjects and the elderly.

People who have consumed these products and who have these symptoms are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption.

200 g organic dry sausages

The recalled batches concern “organic dry sausage 200 g”.

At Lidl, lots 2299007001 and 2299007002 have been sold since November 25.

For the spotted ones, you will be able to observe a date of minimum durability (consumption) on January 23 and 28.

For the stores of the Système U group, these 200 g organic dry sausages have been sold since November 21.

These are lots "2290010001" with a minimum durability date of January 16, "2290010002" with a minimum durability date of January 17, "2290010004" with a minimum durability date of January 22, "2290010005" with a date of minimum durability of January 22 and of lot "2290010006" which has a date of minimum durability of January 24.

A reminder that also concerns products sold at Système U under the title "organic pure pork dry sausage 200g".

At Casino, the sausage with the same title has been sold since November 21 under lots 2290010003 (date of minimum durability January 21) and 2290010007 (date of minimum durability January 28).

In these three brands, the product comes from the Mâconnais salt meats.

Affected consumers are advised to return these products to the store of purchase for reimbursement.
