The Russian Ministry of Energy confirmed today that Russian companies will not deal in any way with any institution or trader that submits to Western decisions, by placing an alleged ceiling on the price of Russian oil.
Sputnik quoted a statement from the ministry as saying: “The presidential decree issued by President Vladimir Putin and published last December prohibits Russian companies from referring to illegal price restrictions imposed by Western countries, in any way, directly or indirectly.”
The statement added, “This ban applies to any transactions with Russian oil up to the final consumer, which means refusing to work with traders who do not comply with this standard of the decree.”
At the end of last month, President Putin ratified a decree on special measures regarding the supply of oil and its derivatives to countries that set a ceiling on oil prices, as it prohibits the supply of Russian oil products to countries and legal entities if the price ceiling is specified in the contracts.
