This new aid replaces the boost at the pump, which ended on January 1 and which, since November 16, paid 10 cents per liter for all motorists.
In total, since its implementation in April 2022, when the discount was 18 cents, this general rebate on fuel taxation will have cost the State 8 billion euros, i.e. "the equivalent of the budget of the Ministry of Justice", according to Gabriel Attal.

The payment of the new aid, whose envelope amounts to one billion euros, is not automatic.
To benefit from it, it will be necessary to apply for it on the tax site until February 28.
The criteria: take a vehicle (car, two-wheeler, even electric) to get to work and have a reference tax income per share less than or equal to 14,700 euros annually.
As the compensation is paid per individual – and not per household – each member of a modest couple who uses their own vehicle will be able to request assistance.
You will then have to fill out a form with your civil status, the registration of your vehicle and your tax number to obtain the transfer of 100 euros to your bank account from January 27 for the first files processed.
