"The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic reports that since 01.18.2023 the rate for
passive repo operations with a term of 1 business day is 72%
while for active operations
with a term of 1 business day it is 97% ".
The statement sent by the Central Bank came 40 minutes after Sergio Massa's announcement about the government's decision to open a
"repurchase process of Argentine foreign debt for more than one billion dollars."
The objective is to put on the table a battery of measures that help calm the markets, in the midst of a sustained rise in the parallel dollar.
