Pension reform: CGT energy plans "targeted cuts" of an hour or two

2023-01-23T10:50:05.108Z

The CGT federation of mines and energy will debate in assembly targeted cuts against defenders of pension reform.

After the strike and the demonstration against the pension reform, the CGT of mines and energy wants to carry out "actions that are visible".

Among the avenues: giving energy to those who no longer have it, free public services, and targeted power cuts.

"The strike is good but it's not enough anymore," said secretary general Sébastien Menesplier of the CGT federation for mines and energy on BFMTV on Monday.

The idea?

Make “energy sobriety”, quipped the secretary general, that is to say “certainly target people who carry out activity that is not essential, we will do as the government told us ".

"The anger of the field is important"

Will billionaires be targeted, questioned journalist Bruce Toussaint?

“If the agents in assembly decide to carry out various actions, it could be organized.

(…) The anger of the field is important, you have to hear it”, according to Sébastien Menesplier who wants to carry out “actions and actions which are visible, which have an impact vis-à-vis those who support the government and the laws of social regression”.

During the previous day of mobilization on January 19, the Enedis electricity distribution network had reported two voluntary and limited power cuts, in Massy (Essonne) and Chaumont (Haute-Marne).

The CGT had warned of power cuts targeted at municipalities of elected officials favorable to the reform.

Already against the pension reform, at the beginning of 2020, the CGT had thus claimed a power cut in Île-de-France which had deprived nearly 60,000 customers of power for several hours, including the Rungis market. .
