In the discussion held in the economy committee in the Knesset, several members of the committee criticized the representative of the Ministry of Defense.
Those present wondered why the firm, which is one of the largest clients of the Pratt & Whitney company, which announced its intention to proceed with the closing of the Blade Technology plant, is not working with the Americans and is negotiating deals with the engine manufacturer for the continued production of the blades in Israel.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Finance Committee, MK Moshe Gafni, announced that he will call a special discussion of the Finance Committee regarding the planned closure of the plant, which will lead to the layoffs of nearly 1,000 workers, in an area that is not filled with alternative employment options.

However, the news that inspires hope for the factory workers and their representatives came precisely from the direction of the owner: Pratt & Whitney, which in the past was only willing to confirm that it had received inquiries from several parties interested in purchasing the factory from its hands, today clarifies that all four have been asked to submit proposals that will be examined by the company's management.
Now the employees hope that this move indicates a real willingness on the part of the owner to sell the plant as an alternative to closing it and that there is no attempt to stall, given the knowledge that the public pressure exerted on the Israeli security system will bear fruit.
