Force Ouvrière and the CGT thus intend to make their opposition to the pension reform heard. But not only. It is also for

Ski enthusiasts should be afraid of not being able to take full advantage of French resorts in February.

In the midst of a social revolt, and strong opposition to pension reform, the unions are looking for the best way to make their demands heard.

Two French ski lift unions, the FO and the CGT, have filed two “unlimited” strike notices from January 31.

It should be remembered that these two unions, in this branch, represent more than 97% of union votes.

The information, announced by our colleagues from RMC, was confirmed this Monday evening at Le Parisien by Éric Becker, federal transport and logistics adviser in charge of ski lifts and seasonal workers.

“We are going to call for mobilization for the next day of the inter-union strike against the pension reform, on January 31, he explains.

But for us, this notice should make it possible to put another subject on the table, that of the new rules for calculating unemployment insurance which are doing a lot of harm to our seasonal workers.

“Strong” actions during the Ski World Cup?

This “unlimited” strike notice does not mean that the ski resorts will remain closed for the entire month of February.

Information given both at FO and at the CGT with RMC.

For the unions, it is above all a means of pressure.

“Our goal is not to close the stations,” continues our union official.

We want to make ourselves heard and obtain a more attentive listening to the problems of our seasonal workers, and the precariousness they experience in the off-season”.

Eric Becker complains of having been received several times by several members of the government, without ever having obtained a return which would make it possible to solve the problems of the seasonal workers.

According to RMC, the CGT would consider implementing “strong” actions during the Ski World Cup to be held in Courchevel and Méribel on March 16 and 20.
