The report estimated the value of global economic losses due to natural disasters during the past year at $313 billion, indicating that only less than half of these losses were insured.

The company (A.O.N.), which prepared the report and is active in the field of insurance mediation, according to the British Sky News Network, said: The number of catastrophic events such as floods and hurricanes has increased, reaching at least 421 cases, compared to an average of 396 cases since 2000.

The report indicated that 75 percent of global insured losses occurred in the United States, as Hurricane Ian, which struck Florida in September 2022, resulted in compensation ranging between $50 and $55 billion out of total economic losses amounting to $95 billion.
