Damascus-SANA
The Central Bank of Syria issued a circular requesting all banking financial institutions operating in Syria to set a daily cash withdrawal limit of 15 million Syrian pounds from accounts opened for natural and legal persons.
The Central Bank indicated in the circular, of which SANA obtained a copy, that setting the withdrawal ceiling comes within the framework of the bank’s policy of restricting cash withdrawals, with the aim of managing the exchange rate and using control tools that lead to limiting speculation on the lira, and following up on the use of funds withdrawn from customers’ accounts. It aims to give them more flexibility in using their bank accounts.
