"Mr. Macron is certain to lose", assured Jean-Luc Mélenchon in Marseille on Tuesday, during the second day of demonstration against the pension reform project, believing that France was "living a historic day".

"It is a completely exceptional situation, there will be a before and an after", added the figure of the Insoumis party (left, opposition), welcoming this "form of citizen insurrection" and calling to a referendum against this reform which "no one wants".

"This is not just an ordinary day of protest," he insisted.

“And now he is threatening us with a dissolution, and very stingy,” continued Mr. Mélenchon, referring to the possibility of new legislative elections brandished by the Head of State if a motion of censure were to be adopted against to this text, in the event of recourse to Article 49.3.

"Let's vote for the French," continued the leader of the Insoumis.

The question of the referendum motion

“We have a democratic weapon at our disposal”, the referendum, he hammered.

“The deputies of the Nupes (alliance of left-wing parties) have tabled a referendum motion, which will be defended next Monday, (…) I challenge the other parties who say they are in opposition to adopt this motion”, added Jean-Luc Melenchon.

But, shortly after this statement, AFP obtained information that the conference of presidents of the Assembly had in fact decided to draw lots to find out which referendum motion would be submitted to the vote of the deputies.

And it was that of the RN who won.

🚨 Outrageous!

Yaël Braun Pivet and Macronie change the rules of the assembly to offer the referendum motion to the RN on a plate.

For the former deputy of Bouches-du-Rhône, present in Marseille with Manuel Bompard, his successor in this chair of Marseille elected to the National Assembly, “the only obstacle has a name, it is Mr. Macron, Mrs. Élisabeth Borne, without these two, everything would go smoothly”.

“Mr. Macron and Ms. Borne are the obstacles to the French people being able to express themselves,” he denounced.
