Reuters reported that Brent crude futures rose 20 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $85.66 a barrel.
West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 34 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $ 79.21 a barrel, extending the gains of the previous session, which amounted to about 1 percent.
