The Central Bank's board of directors has just approved
the issuance of a 2,000-peso bill
, after years of complaints from companies and banks, which saw how the number of bills they had to handle on a daily basis increased due to inflation.
The new banknote, designed in collaboration with Casa de Moneda, will feature the Malbrán Institute, and Dr. Cecilia Grierson and Dr. Ramón Carrillo, pioneers in the development of medicine in the country.
On the obverse of the bill will be the figures of Grierson and Carrillo and on the reverse of the bill the building of the National Institute of Microbiology Dr. Carlos G. Malbrán is represented.
