Trucks: first milestones for hydrogen

DECRYPTION - TotalEnergies and Air Liquide create a joint venture to develop 100 gas stations in Europe.


Hydrogen, a fuel of the future?

To be able to answer this question in the affirmative, it would still be necessary to have suitable vehicles and service stations.

As each segment tends to wait for the other to take the first step, TotalEnergies and Air Liquide have decided to prime the pump.

The two groups announce the creation of a joint venture, without specifying the amount of the investments made.

They are simply qualified as “

significant

” by those concerned.

As part of this partnership, they will deploy a network of more than 100 hydrogen stations for heavy goods vehicles in France, Germany and Benelux over ten years.

Enough to cover major highways, “

European corridors, and transport hubs

” such as ports.

TotalEnergies and Air Liquide will bring to the joint venture the hydrogen stations they already have, i.e. a dozen in total.
