A super vegetable that will replace the vegetables on the plate

The Israeli company GreenOnyx (GreenOnyx) develops advanced growing systems capable of producing healthy and fresh water lentil vegetables with high output and volumes without human intervention.

The process takes place through a unique technology that allows the vegetable to be grown throughout the year in complete sterility, in any climate, building and terrain conditions and without dependence on agricultural land or manpower.

With backing from investors such as Granot, Prof. Ruth Arnon, restaurateur Ruthie Brodo and Marius Nacht, and after its products entered Michelin restaurants, last month the company unveiled for the first time the advanced breeding farm and the first of its kind in the world.

The founder of the company, Dr. Tzipi Shoham, who previously served as a cancer researcher, came to the insight that adopting a healthy and balanced lifestyle reduces the chance of getting sick and therefore, looked for the richest and healthiest vegetable in favor of a proper and healthy diet.

At the end of a transcontinental journey, she discovered in Thailand the wolfia - an extremely tiny water vegetable that grows in very specific conditions and is rich in nutritional values of iron, zinc, potassium, vitamin A, vitamin K and omega 3, so that it is a substitute for a vegetable portion as part of a changing menu and suitable for each food separately.

The SeeTree company operates drones whose purpose is to collect and monitor data about large crop areas and perform accurate analyzes for farmers.

Guy Morgenstern, the founder of the company and a graduate of the Technion, says that drones have the ability to help farmers reach the potential of the growing areas and identify problems and malfunctions.

The artificial intelligence-based drones flying over the crops provide essential information about what is happening on the surface such as irrigation problems, tree diseases, the ripeness of the fruits and other parameters.

In this way, in fact, the company improves the operation involved in agricultural cultivation and makes the information accessible to farmers so that they can get a clearer picture of the state of the plantations.

Reduction of crop rotations

The estimates indicating a large population increase in the coming years, and as a result an increase in global food production, are expected to lead to a great demand for alternative agricultural technologies that provide a high yield in a shorter time and with more limited resources.

For this purpose, the company XtrION was established by Matan Rosenfeld, who is known as having participated in four seasons of the show "Ninja Israel".

The company has developed an innovative solution to increase the rate of growth and yield and to reduce the growth cycles.

The technology manages to shorten the duration of plant growth and agricultural crops at a level of over 50% and provides additional and innovative advantages.

The innovative method makes it possible to save on cultivation area and transportation costs and even reduce environmental pollution.

The Fungit initiative warms the innovation of the South InNegev develops biological solutions with the aim of extending the shelf life of agricultural produce, increasing productivity and the possibility of dealing with extreme climate situations.

Fungit's technology creates a protective shell for the fruit when it integrates with the natural systems of the fruit itself.

The company's biological products strengthen the fruit's own immune system and thus improve the fruit's ability to deal with pollutants and maintain its nutritional properties.

The purpose of the technology is to expand the use of environmentally friendly biological tools in Israeli agriculture and the world in general.
