The branches of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Hama and Daraa sold about 23 thousand tons of sifted and sterilized wheat seeds for the current winter season.
In Hama, the director of the Foundation’s branch, Eng. Louay Al-Husari, explained to SANA that 17,400 thousand tons have been sold to date, indicating that this quantity included the sale of 6,900 tons to farmers under the agricultural license, and the marketing of 10,100 tons of seeds to the branches of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank in the governorate, in addition to shipping 2,000 tons. From wheat seed to the provinces.
Al-Husari indicated that the branch handed over the entire contracted amount of 1,550 tons of wheat seed to the International Red Cross Organization, to be distributed in the form of grants to small agricultural holders.
In Daraa, the branch of the Seed Multiplication Corporation finished selling wheat seeds to farmers and farming associations, with the total quantity sold reaching 5,675 tons.
The branch manager, Eng. Samer Al-Zamil, pointed out in a statement to SANA reporter today, that in order to reduce congestion and costs on farmers and associations and put pressure on the center, quantities of seeds were shipped to the branches of the Cooperative Agricultural Bank in Al-Sanamayn and Khirbet Ghazaleh, stressing that the distributed seeds have the required specifications, and good productivity within a unit. space.
