The situation is paradoxical.
Despite sluggish growth (0.3% in 2023, forecast by the Banque de France), the job market is well oriented: unemployment fell further in France at the end of 2022. According to the Ministry of Labour, the number unemployed (category A, without activity) fell by 3.6% to 3.050 million.
The number of job seekers is at its lowest level since the third quarter of 2011. For its part, Urssaf reported a record five million permanent hires signed in 2022.
Despite an uncertain economic climate, employers are continuing their search for talent, as shown by our 2023 list of companies that are recruiting.
