On Friday, at a lunch at the Adeba offices,
Patricia Bullrich
ratified her promise as
presidential candidate
for Together for Change to balance the public accounts "as soon as possible."
It was a meeting with the
Association of Argentine Banks
, where several of its representatives were.
Bullrich was surrounded by Luciano Laspina and Nicolás Massot, both economists and they worked together in the Chamber of Deputies (Laspina is still a deputy today).
Both those close to Bullrich and the Adeba authorities agreed that three aspects of the future economic-financial agenda were reviewed at the meeting: the need to recover public credit, the functioning of the financial system and monetary stability.
"It is necessary to preserve public credit as a State policy. The Argentine State must work to honor its commitments, always. This requires willingness and ability to pay. The ability to pay in the future depends on the fiscal responsibility of the government today and in the future It
is essential to achieve fiscal balance as soon as possible
, as a way of ensuring the sustainability of the public debt".
Regarding the financial system, Bullrich and the bankers agreed that "it is key to the recovery of economic development. The banking system has managed to successfully overcome the macroeconomic turmoil in the last 20 years, consolidating its credibility. Interest rate setting
policies passive and active limits the development of savings and credit
".
Finally, they pointed out that "currency stability is a starting point for the normal functioning of a modern economy. Achieving monetary stability requires having a balanced budget and an independent Central Bank."
Authorities from Adeba participated in the lunch, from its president, Javier Bolzico, accompanied by Jorge Brito, Pablo Gutierrez, Jose Luis Pardo, Roberto Dominguez, Marcos Prieto and Andrés Meta.
It was the first meeting with political leaders of the banking association throughout 2023.
