The Russian company Gazprom announced that its gas supplies reaching Europe through the Suga crossing point amounted to 40.4 million cubic meters, the highest level since early January.
The TASS agency quoted a representative of Gazprom as saying today: “Gazprom supplies Europe today with Russian gas through Ukrainian territory with the volume confirmed by the Ukrainian side of 40.4 million cubic meters through the Suga pumping station, which is 3 percent higher than the previous day, while the Ukrainian side refused the station’s request.” Sukharanovka gas pump.
The volume of supplies yesterday amounted to 39.2 million cubic meters.
It is likely that Russian gas supplies will be equal again to last year's numbers soon, as they actually increased by 65 percent in February compared to the end of last January.
The transit line through Ukraine remains the only way to supply the countries of western and central Europe with Russian gas, as pumping through the northern stream has been completely suspended.
