the Government will take a new step in its pricing policy

will update transport rates based on inflation
.
Thus, after the increases applied in January for the bus ticket in AMBA, from March to December the monthly adjustments tied to the variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) will be added, which last January showed a rise of 6 % and complicated the pattern provided by the Ministry of Economy.
The measure is an important change in the midst of negotiations with the IMF
, since until now the bus and train ticket had been used
as an "anchor" to keep regulated prices
below the average.
In November, the Government already advanced, in this sense, with the prepaid quota, by authorizing bimonthly increases of between 5.04 and 7.66% through a cost index adjusted by the CPI with a ceiling of 90% of the registered wages (RIPTE).
Then, in December, the Ministry of Transportation ordered a 40% increase in the minimum bus ticket on the AMBA - it went up to $35 in January and the train ticket to between $17 and $22, and the formula is updated by CPI.
Although the calculation will be known in the next few hours,
Transport confirmed that
the increase will be 6%,
taking into account the latest inflation data available, since the February figure will only be known in March.
"From the first of March and all the first of each month, the transport rate will be updated only for the inflation of the previous month with available information. It is implemented for one year from the validity of the resolution that came out last December and then we will see who is the government," Transportation sources said, where negotiations for the transfer of bus lines to the City continue.
The formula will be applied to the "tables" of the current rates
that vary according to the line and the kilometers in the case of the buses and the branch and the distance in the case of rail transport, whose costs were informed in the last hours to the portfolio headed by Diego Giuliano.
On the other hand, the "social attribute" will be taken into account, a 45% discount on the rate that applies to 12 categories of SUBE beneficiaries, such as housewives.

For February and March, analysts expect monthly inflation of around 6% and a year-on-year rise of 100%, after reaching a record of 98.8% in January.
The Government began last year to accelerate the adjustment of regulated services due to the sharp rise in subsidies and the demands of the IMF.
