While the debates on pension reform are in full swing in the Senate, the CGT continues its mobilization to try to weigh in on the discussions.
"
Given the debate which opens in the Senate this afternoon on article 1 concerning the abolition of special regimes, the EDF agents of the nuclear power plants are going on strike and this afternoon are lowering the production of electricity
", reports Sébastien Menesplier, general secretary of the CGT Mines-Energie.
The reform provides for the abolition of the special pension scheme for employees of the electricity and gas industries (IEG), the majority of whom are EDF employees.
This mobilization prefigures that of national scale expected on March 7.
