2023-03-09T12:58:31.152Z

The unions and companies in the sector signed an increase of 99.02% for the 2022/23 period. The trade unionists indicated that this is a historical figure.

The oil unions closed the 2022/23 parity this Wednesday

with a rise of almost 100%

, the representatives of the sector reported.

At the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation, the oil unions and the business chambers agreed to an increase of 99%,

a figure that the unionists described as "historic"

.

With this, the

operator with an 8-hour shift will charge $550,000 and the 12-hour one will be around $900,000

, the union indicated.

The Union of Argentine Oil Workers (UTPA), the Chamber of Hydrocarbons Production Companies (CEPH) and the Chamber of Special Oil Operations Companies (CEOPE), held tense discussions that finally led to a record number for the workers, since the unionists sat down at the table demanding 100% of inflation.

With this number, the employees and operators of the industry exceeded the inflationary statistics of the period.

Inflation in 2022 reached 94.8%, and almost double that of 2021, which reached 50.1%).

Last year we closed a parity of 79%

and this year is finishing more than 90%.

There are twelve or thirteen points of difference that we have to agree to overcome the inflation numbers,” Marcelo Rucci, general secretary of the Union of Private Oil Workers of Río Negro, Neuquén and La Pampa, had indicated before entering the key meeting, La Mañana reported. .

The agreement represents an increase of 20% compared to 2022 with

the business chambers and reaches a total of 99.02%.

“We repaid the trust that the workers placed in us with actions,” said Claudio Vidal, general secretary of the Santa Cruz Private Oil Workers Union.

The agreement was based on the data provided by the consumer price index (CPI) for February and March to establish the last tranche of the 2022 parity.

“This is a fact or history that allows parities to be normalized

after the crisis that the pandemic meant and the application of agreements aimed at protecting jobs in the Neuquén basin,” reported Petroleros Privados.

"The end of 2022 ends up being an almost 100% salary increase," said Jorge Ávila in contact with ADNSUR. He added: "the work of the Neuquén union has been important and we are trying to fight inflation, even if it is from behind, but we are fighting it,” said Jorge Avila, general secretary of the Chubut Private Oil and Gas union.

It is estimated that only in Neuquén, Río Negro and La Pampa the sector employs close to 30,000 people.

The oil unions announced that

during 2023 there will be a new parity and they will "sit down to discuss" again.

In November 2022, the oil workers union, which includes Vaca Muerta, among other important deposits in the country,

had also agreed on a $100,000 bonus

that was paid in two installments of 50,000 pesos in December and February.

Within this framework, they had also established the advance payment of the salary increase signed in mid-2022 and the increase in the value of the food (“Non-remunerative complementary food allowance”) to $65,000.
