Domestic workers: more benefits

At the end of February, the Government announced

the relaunch of the Registered Program

, which added more benefits for domestic workers.

Starting this month, they can access

unemployment coverage

and

retirement rights

were also extended .

On this last point,

employees who work less than 16 hours a week

will be able to access retirement.

What is the Registrada plan and how it benefits employers and employees

The renewed initiative was launched for the first time in October 2021 with the aim of reducing labor informality in the sector of workers in private homes, guaranteeing permanence in a registered job, banking them and working on gender equality, since it is the sector that employs more women.

In its first version, the plan consisted of the transfer for six months

of between 30% and 50% of the salary

-depending on the employer's income level- to a free salary account in the name of the employee at Banco Nación.

In this renewed version,

the benefit becomes 50% in all cases

of the minimum monthly net remuneration of the worker or worker in private homes corresponding by agreement, based on the hours and categories declared by their employer at the time. of benefit enrollment.

In this way, the National State extends the contribution that it will pay on the salaries of new hires for six months.

Enrollment in the program will remain open throughout this year.

The benefit will correspond to all employer families with incomes less than the non-taxable minimum.

And in the cases in which the contracted person is a worker with disabilities or with children with disabilities, is a transvestite, transsexual or transgender, or a worker who is a regular employee of the ACOMPAÑAR program (continues to receive the economic benefit or not), the benefit will be extended for 8 months in place of 6.

In the event that the employer does not meet the established requirements,

"they must make a full refund of the amount in pesos

that has been granted under the aforementioned Program," the Government warned.

With this benefit, domestic workers do not lose the possibility of accessing other aid through the National Social Security Administration

(ANSeS)

, such as the Universal Child Allowance

(AUH)

, discounts on the

SUBE Card

for public transport and the

Food Card

of the Ministry of Social Development.
