The governor and the prime minister.

This was not another interview.
Bank of Israel Governor Amir Yaron's conversation with CNN's Richard Quest was a wake-up call to fly to nowhere, which is expected to result in an economic and institutional crash following the legal revolution.
The governor of the Bank of Israel, Prof. Amir Yaron, known as a level-headed man, said in an interview what he usually says in private rooms: "The legal revolution could weaken the institutions. This is hasty legislation and must be done with consent and caution."
This is a one-man demonstration by the governor (although in his estimation all the heads of the economy share, almost without exception).
What has been done so far in the legislative process is completely contrary to the governor's words.
As mentioned, Prof. Yaron is a balanced and careful man.
I have talked to him several times recently.
For the quote, he is not yet ready to speak, because he is on the eve of the interest rate decision (which will be made in 3.4) and therefore any statement he makes on the subject could be problematic.
And yet he decided to open his mouth precisely on a prestigious international television network, so that his words would be heard on a global level as well.
Why?
Because it seems that Netanyahu has stopped being moved by the demonstrations in Israel.
It's a fact that he flew with his wife to Berlin today in what looks like ongoing anniversary celebrations.

World Prime Minister
Netanyahu may be less sensitive to domestic criticism, but he is certainly troubled by the consequences of his policies in the international arena.
While he is excluded from an official visit to the USA, he seems to have decided to punish all his ministers, just like in the old joke about the cadet who was rejected from a pilot's course and asked for a position in an aircraft, to say: if I don't fly then no one will fly!.
Netanyahu cares about his image in international eyes, but his problem (and ours) is that Israel's status and the independence of the judiciary are of enormous importance in economic and investment matters.
That is, the international credit rating companies are on stand-by for a reduction in the score given to the local economy.
Therefore, during the last few weeks, he tried to collect every scrap of an opinion piece supporting the legal reform.
But it's easier to find a needle in a haystack.
So the governor shouts his words in the international arena in a way that is not ambiguous:

What does the governor actually say?
"The results of the reform may lead to a brain drain. This has significant consequences, so it is imperative that we preserve the independence of the court."
Prof. Yaron says these things knowing that the escape process has already begun.
The governor's interview is also intended to strengthen the Bank of Israel's independence and protect it:
"The independence of the governor and the central bank is critical to the economy. A country that compromised independence suffered negative consequences. The decision-makers understand this and therefore will not lead to harming the bank's independence."
That's what the governor, Prof. Yaron, says - but does he really believe it, or does he just wish that it would turn out that way in the end?
One thing is certain: after such an interview, it is quite clear that the governor has already admitted that his term, which ends in October of this year, will no longer be extended.
It is possible that even if he had been asked, he would not have agreed.
Apparently, not only the hitikists are on their way to relocation, but also he, who is starting to pack for his return to the US. This is perhaps another reason why he was interviewed this time in a much more relaxed way than he used to do until today.
