Badoit abandons its green and red bottles to go greener

The bottles of Badoit, recognizable by their green (original “finely sparkling” version) and red (“intensely sparkling” version) color drop out.

If they keep their shape, they adopt the same colorless plastic as the other brands, starting with Evian and Volvic, the other flagships of Danone's water division.

The “bottle to bottle” principle

This is the “bottle to bottle” principle: a bottle of water, soda or fruit juice must be recycled into a bottle.

At present, it remains very difficult for colored PET to be recycled for food uses.

This explains why Badoit bottles are essentially made from virgin plastic.

To increase the rate of reused PET in its 250 million bottles produced per year, the brand is changing clothes.

So as not to confuse its customers, it will keep green and red caps and labels.

Badoit expects to save 650 tonnes of virgin plastic this year, or 10% of its volumes.

100% circular is not Danone's only motivation.

The group is committed to using only recycled materials for its bottles.

A challenge because the increase in demand for recycled plastic (rPET) boosted prices by 60% last year.

As it becomes clearer, Badoit is increasing the pool available to meet this demand and driving prices down.
