The Secretary of Energy,
Flavia Royón
, reiterated that
the removal of the concession
to the electricity distributor Edesur, which was administratively intervened for 180 days, is not ruled out, as announced on Monday and published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette.
The official assured that the measure was taken to "give a quick response, because
a removal of a concession
or another figure
requires more
study time to be able to do it well,
without harming the interests of the State."
"According to how it evolves (the intervention), it has not been ruled out (a concession removal) but it
was not a measure to take it with this haste
preserving the interests of the State," he said in statements to Radio Continental.

Royón said that, although there were already ENRE overseers in the company, who had detected deviations from the summer plan to which Edesur had committed, "we needed a figure to be able to work much more in real time and control and prevent future
outages
and have a better summer next year and be able to make it to winter."
The ENRE controls after it happened and the official said they needed "an ex ante control, that the investments that we consider to be a priority begin to be made at this moment, although there have been many years of disinvestment and the problem will not be solved in a few months ".
Royón wanted to make it clear that administrative intervention
does not take over the operation
of the company or affect its assets.
"The controller can control the investments that are being carried out and, in the case of having users without service, also the contingency plans."
The official minimized the argument that Edesur's service cuts are due to the freezing of rates that existed in the past.
"
When the company had a full rate, the investments were not made either
. And in this management we have worked with them, we have given a rate, which
people will receive in the month of April and June
. We had the will to give a rate and make sure that part of this fee goes to the works plan that we need".
"We all know that Enel (the Italian owner of Edesur) is withdrawing and we had the commitment that their withdrawal would be with full responsibility and that they would respect this summer plan and carry out the investments," he said.
Regarding the sale process, Royón said that the intervention does not affect it.
"
It can take time,
they have to put their documentation in order, call a bank to take charge of the process, it can take months and
even a year
," he risked.
However, Enel sold its two power generators - Costanera and Dock Sud - shortly after announcing that it was looking for a buyer.
On the other hand, Royón defended the appointment of the mayor of Avellaneda, Jorge Ferraresi, at the head of the intervention: "He is an engineer, worked in energy companies and linked to energy issues and knows the territory."
